Change

Tanner got the new Carrie Underwood CD from Mom and Dad this weekend for Christmas. It's got the song above on it. It's called "Change" and I've listened to it over and over today. I just love the message of it. I mean really, how many times do we choose to turn our heads to the poor or to those who may be homeless or of a different social class than us? I know I'm guilty of doing that. I don't want to be, but if we're being honest-I'm guilty.

I want 2010 to be different.

I want to be the "Change." I want to give of myself more in 2010 than any other year. I want to pay things forward-do for others what others have done for me or for my family. It doesn't have to be anything major. A simple note to someone who is going through a rough time. Paying for the next person in lines coffee. Keeping a friend's kiddos so they can have a much needed break. Helping with outreach opportunities at church......the possibilities are endless.

Anyone else up for making a "Change?"

What a beautiful idea. I'd love to do the same. I wonder if I'll remember....
