Bragging

I know you really shouldn't brag, but I'm going to do it anyway...

My Capt called me in and gave me my yearly evaluation today. I received two "Meets Department expectations" areas and the rest were all "EXCEEDS Department expectations." YAY!!

I got moved back to the front office back in March and I have to admit that I wasn't really into the idea all that much at first. I loved when I transferred to the Training/Background Investigation Division four years ago, it was a dream job. I had the absolute best supervisor anyone could ask for and I had a wonderful partner in crime as well. The three of us together kicked butt. We worked hard so we could play hard. It was an amazing time. The two guys that I worked with and I became best of friends and to this day, I thank God for Kevin and Greg and I thank God for that time in my life.

As with all good things though-they must end. Kevin got promoted to Lt. and moved back to the streets (He's the dayshift LT right now) and that left Greg and I, plus a new Sgt. It was a difficult change to make and eventually Greg ditched me and went back to patrol as well. The "change of command" so to speak was difficult and I was no longer happy without Greg and Kevin. It is nothing at all against the people who are currently in that division, but it just wasn't the same without my Kevin and Greg.

When I was told in March that I was being moved out of the Training/Background Investigation division, I was kind of relieved, though nervous too. You know me and change-we aren't the best of friends! :) But nonetheless, the move was made and I have to say-I love it.

It's been so nice to be apart of the team. It's been great to know that your immediate co-worker has your back. It's nice to laugh with the girls and be goofy and yet have support when going through a rough time. I went into the move with the attitude that I was going to try my hardest to be positive and to do my job and go home.

I say all this to say.....................I'm so thankful that my hard work has paid off and that my Capt and my Sgt. have noticed. I wasn't prepared for that!

So tonight, I go to bed with a smile on my face and a content heart.

Way to go me!!

(Ok, I'm done bragging now, thank you for reading)
