Happy Easter!

Today is one of my favorite days of the year. How could it not be? Jesus dying on the cross and then raising from the dead-does it really get any better than that?

I think not.

Mom, Dad, Steve and I got up and went to first service this morning. It was good to be at my home church again. I don't know how long it's been since we've been there.....ages, I'm sure (we usually get up and go home on Sunday mornings when we come up for the weekend). We had a great time of worship and saw lots of people that we don't normally see. It was fun catching up with old youth group friends and seeing where everyone has ended up in life.

Perhaps the best part of church though happened at the end of the service. Bill had just given the invitation and asked the congregation to stand and sing. When we stood up, my Daddy put his arm around me and whispered in my ear "I'm glad your here sweetheart." Yea, we both hugged and cried right then and there. Made my day. I love my Daddy.

After church, Steve and I stopped by the cemetery to visit with Grandma and Grandpa. I hadn't seen the headstones yet and since today was one of Grandpa's favorite days, I wanted to at least tell him "Happy Easter." I must say, the headstones are beautiful and so appropriate for Gma and Gpa. My Uncle Dan had visited the cemetery recently and while there, in the mud in front of Grandma's place, he wrote "We miss you." I think he spoke for all of us.

This afternoon my brother's and their families all came to Mom and Dad's for brunch. Holy cow we had soooo much food and as always, we all ate way to much! It was so fun though-I love sitting around the table and listening to my brothers talk and laugh about stuff. Get Matt, Mike, Dad and Steve going and I'm here to tell you, they are like their own comedy show! Good times.

I had no intentions of taking a nap this afternoon, but man, after eating and having a full belly...well, the eyes couldn't stay open. I remember getting a pillow and a blanket and I remember curling up on the floor thinking "Keep your eyes open....." and next thing you know it was 5:00, Matt and Tammy were gone, and Jenny and Mike were asleep too! And evidently, Mom had just gotten up herself! What a perfect way to end the perfect afternoon.

Tonight we've just hung out, watched tv and read.

It's been a fun filled weekend and to say that I'm not ready to go back to Arkansas is a HUGE understatement. What I wouldn't give to be able to go back to Arkansas, get Tanner, pack things up and move up here for good. Hopefully someday that will happen.

Until then though......................................................

We pack up our stuff, load the truck, say our goodbyes, shed some tears and head south.....all the while trying to make the best of it.

Hope everyone had as good of an Easter as we did!

Blessings!
