We had such a FABULOUS weekend. I'm not ready at all for it to be over. Why is it that weekends, especially the good ones, go by so fast?!
Mike and Jenny and the girls got here yesterday around noon and the party began (ha ha!). The girls did such a good time at playing. They love being together and though they have a tiff here or there, for the most part, they play really well together. We snacked around for lunch and just hung out for awhile until the boys got the itch to go to the "man store." (a.k.a the gun shops)
So Mike and Steve left for what we thought would be an hour or so. Yea, we were wrong! Three hours and a phone call later, they came back. Surprisingly though, they came home empty handed-we were impressed!
Jenny and I stayed home with the girls and sat here on the computer looking through FB at all the people we used to go to high school with. That was fun-reliving the days and all. The big girls played and Livie took a nap.
After dinner, it was Jenny and I's turn to get out of the house. So we ditched the boys and the girls and headed to Rogers to The Promenade. And get this-an hour and a half later, we came home with two things-from TARGET! Grr-we were in the mood to shop and just couldn't find anything. Very disappointing for us-very good for the boys and the checkbooks.
After several attempts, we finally got the girls down and after all three of them getting up at least once, finally at 10:30 I think they went to sleep. By the time, we adults were EXHAUSTED and slap happy, we sat up until almost midnight giggling and laughing. Good times.
All we did this morning was hang out here at the house. It was so cute because at one point, Roger the Peacock came to the door for his morning feeding. Livie was FASCINATED by him. We went out and fed him, then I came back in the house. Liv stayed outside on the front porch and serenaded Roger for awhile-it was so stinking cute and I'm certain Roger enjoyed it.
Mike and Jenny left around 11:30 this morning and took Tanner with them. She is spending Spring Break with my parents. My Mom was on Spring Break last week but since my Dad isn't working these days then Tanner is going to stay there and hang out with him. I think she'll have a great time, though Dad is afraid that she's going to get bored. I don't think that's the case at all.
It was so funny this morning. We gave Tanner some spending money for the week. Mike asked her what she's going to do with it and she said "I'm taking Grandpa to happy hour!" We just looked at her and Steve said "Happy hour?" She said "Yea, at Sonic!" We DIED laughing! What made it even more funny was that Tanner was totally serious about it and didn't understand why we were laughing. Funny girl.
I ran to Kohl's and got a quick pedicure after Mike and Jenny left. I have a horrible pedicure story that I'll save for another day. Icky. Let's just say that I will NEVER go back to the mall for a pedicure again after today.
Steve and I finished clearing the yard of all the sticks and stuff leftover from the ice storm this afternoon. The final sweep of the cleanup starts this week, so we wanted to get it to the curb in time for them to pick it up. We are tired and worn out tonight. My back is hurting-I can't imagine what Steve's must feel like!
We are now settled in and watching Amazing Race and winding down for the night. I'm not ready to start the week, but suppose I don't have a choice. Here's hoping to a good week!!
