Tulsa

I'm picking up Tanner in an hour and she and I are headed to Tulsa. We are meeting up with the Jr. High youth group from my home church in Kansas City. This weekend is a Jr. High CIY (Christ In Youth) retreat there. Since Tanner is the only Jr. High'er in our church, we are meeting up with the SPCC group and she's going to go to the conference with them.

My cousin, Melissa, is going to be a sponsor and her daughter, Rachel (who is two weeks younger, to the day, then Tanner) will be there as well. I know Tanner is nervous about being around so many kids that she doesn't know, but she's very excited to see Rachel and "Aunt Melissa." I think it'll be a good experience for her. I tend to smother her and not let her do very many things without me (bad, I know), so this will be good for both of us.

While she is at the conference, I'll be hanging out with my other cousins, Robyn and Jack. They live right outside Tulsa in Owasso. Tanner and I used to go over there all the time before Steve and I got married. We've always had a ton of fun together. It's been awhile since I've seen them, so it'll be good to relax and hang out for a little bit.

I'm gonna miss my hubby. I know, I know, it's only for one night. The thought of sleeping without him though makes me sad. I'm sure he'll enjoy the break from the hormones in the house, but I'm gonna miss him regardless!!
