Fluids

Called Dr. Froman this morning.  Wasn't sure that Tanner was 100% maintaining hydration.  I talked to the nurse who is very familiar with Tanner's cycles.  She said I could bring her in and let Beth look at her and we'd go from there.  Tanner's doing great with drinking this cycle, which is very abnormal.  She's been telling me that her pee is clear (sorry if that's TMI, just keeping it real), but I wanted to make sure before the office closed and avoid an ER trip if all possible.

When we got to the office, T's blood pressure was a little low, as was her heartbeat.  She had a headache and wasn't very talkative or lively.  All of this combined made Beth want to go ahead and give her at least a liter of fluid since we were there.

No arguments here.

Ok, perhaps there was a moan from Tanner, but who can blame her?  Tanner isn't always an easy stick.  And we've had a couple of Nurses in the ER who have blown a vain or missed on the first try.  Thankfully Stephanie, Beth's Nurse, is a pro at sticking Tanner and makes it seem easy.

The hour we were there went quick.  Tanner will usually sleep through most of the drip.  Today she was pretty restless, but overall, did good.  And the hour went by fast.  By the time they bag ended and they got her unhooked, her color was better, her head didn't hurt as bad and she was talkative.

Amazing the difference one bag of fluids make.

I love how before we leave, Beth always hugs Tanner and tells her "Hang in there kid."

Makes my heart smile every time.

I love our Dr!
