Quotes

Tanner cracked me up several times today. The kid has a great sense of humor-always has-and says some of the darnedest things, a lot of times, not even realizing that what she has said is funny. I wish I had kept a notebook or card file of all the funny things she's said in her 14 years of existence! There's no way I could remember all of them!

Two things she said today, I want to remember and therefore, I'm going to record them here on my blog. I posted them on FB so they are repeats for those FB addicts like myself, so I apologize in advance.

Steve had to go to Ft. Smith this morning for Grand Jury on the big case that he was working on over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Steve works undercover. The whole point of his job is to blend in with those he's around. Therefore, his typical dress for work is a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt and a ball hat. He lets his hair get long and of course has the goatee. Grand Jury means you dress in a suit and tie. It also meant he had to leave for Ft. Smith at 6:30 this morning.

I was in the closet this morning getting something and Steve was getting his stuff around to go as well. Tanner walks into the room and says, in such a shocked and yet sincere voice

"WHOA! Don't YOU look handsome! Mom-have you seen Stevie this morning? He looks so HANDSOME!"

It was so incredibly funny! I guess you could say that my husband cleans up pretty darn good! (Of course I already knew that) :)

Then tonight after work we had to go to the grocery store. I hadn't been to the grocery in almost two weeks-not for major stuff at least-so we had a full cart. We're walking through Walmart, almost done and out of the blue, Tanner says

"Man Mom, they are gonna make a lot of money off of us tonight!"

I literally stopped the cart, looked at her and died laughing. She had no idea why what she said was funny and didn't understand why I was laughing.

What a hoot my child is! I love it and hope she's always able to make the people around her laugh, as well as laugh at herself.

How funny! Kids can sure give us a lot of joy out of what they say. :o)
