I know it's Monday, so the weekend is technically over, but I thought I'd recap the weekend anyway.
Tanner was at Mike's this weekend, so she was gone until last night. :( She had a pretty good weekend-stayed busy coloring things for Vacation Bible School that's going on this week at her Dad's church.
Her knee is still bothering her somewhat. She complains of lots of sharp pains and though she can now walk more normally, complains that her knee "locks up" and hurts quite a bit. We go see Dr. Griffey for the MRI results and plan of action tomorrow at 3:00. I'll update the blog as soon as I can.
Friday night was just a lazy night at home. We both had had a long day, so we just sat around, snacked and went to bed early.
I got up early Saturday morning, made some monkey bread, then headed over to Jill's for our annual garage sale. For the last several years, Jill, her friend Michelle and I have had a garage sale. Usually it's in the first part of May, but with the way schedules fell, it didn't get on the calendar until this past weekend.
The weather was great for the most part and the sale went really well overall. I think I made around $70 or so, so I was happy. Tanner did great and made $17! I was really proud of her.
Saturday evening a friend that used to work at Steve's office came into town. Rich got transferred to another DEA officer four years ago. He and Steve had gotten to be good friends while he was here and have kept in touch, but haven't seen each other, since. He called Steve on Friday, said he was in Ft. Smith for some training and asked about maybe getting together for dinner on Saturday night. Everything worked out just right, so we met him at Noodles Saturday night.
We had such a great time. I love seeing old friends and catching up! And I love the look on the guys faces when they see each other for the first time in years-the surprised and happy sort of handshake that then turns into a hug-I just think it's awesome! I think we were there chatting and eating until almost 8:00 but it was well worth every minute and every last penny we spent. It was so awesome to just sit and relax and catch up with our old friend. It was neat to listen to he and Steve talk about the old days! What a fun time!
Sunday morning was church. I have to admit-I didn't want to go at all. I know, that's bad, right? I'm just being honest though. We went though and I'm really glad I did. I loved what Jeff preached on (commitment) and walked out with a smile on my face.
After church we went and got lunch at Scholtzky's. I got a tomato and pesto pizza and it was fabulous! Yum-O! After lunch we got back in the car and went to Lowe's for awhile. It was so fun!
We bought several things........but some of my favorites were a couple of plants, a planter and some potting soil! Who knew, right!? Four years ago this November, Tanner's Nanny (the lady that babysat for her from the time she was 3 until she was 8) passed away. After the funeral, we got a peace lilly to bring home. It's been alive and well in it's original container, but it's been past time to transplant it. So yesterday was the day. I did my first successful transplant and I have to say-it looks pretty stinking good!
When Tanner came home, we all came in, cleaned up, ate and then crawled into bed for Family Movie Night. This week we watched "Night At The Museum." It was good, but we liked "Mall Cop" better. We are stuck on what to watch next Sunday-any ideas or suggestions?
So that's the recap of our weekend. Hope yours was just as great as ours!
