She's Back..............

Tanner is home from church camp at the beach! YAY!!!

I was like a kid at Christmas last night. I was so excited that she was coming home and the closer she got, the more she called or texted. I had a hard time going to sleep knowing that in just a few hours I'd get to see my girl again!!! I woke up at 3:30 and immediately turned on my phone to see if she'd sent me a message or not. It just so happened that one of the sponsors had just twittered and said they'd be at the church at 8:00. Before I could even turn off the phone, I got a text from Tanner. She said she'd been asleep, she slept through the two gas stops and she was ready to be home. I was so excited I had a hard time falling back to sleep!!

Sounds kind of silly, I'm sure, but hey, she's my only kiddo and though she drives me nuts sometimes-I miss her when she's gone!

We got up and around this morning and left the house around 7:45 and headed to the church. Even though Tanner is with Mike again this coming week, I still wanted to be there to see her get off the bus. And it worked out well because we would have been up that early anyway since the siding guy wasn't done with the house and was here pounding at 6:45 this morning!

The buses pulled in at 8:15. It was so neat to see six big charter buses pulling in full of hot, stinky, tired kids and sponsors. As they pulled up to the building you could see kids through the windows waving at the parents waiting. I think most of the kids were just as excited to be home as the parents were!

Tanner texted Steve around 8:00 and told him they were just passing Sams. He sent her one back that said "Roger that. See you in a few minutes." Her response? "Don't use Police talk with me young man!" We died laughing! What a hoot! The kid cracks me up!

Tanner went with Mike back to his house and Steve and I went and got some breakfast. After that, we went to Sam's and then to Walmart. We got home, put groceries away, cut up all the fresh fruit we got and then I crashed. I took a two and a half hour nap! Go me!

Steve did some grilling for dinner, we both showered and now are laying in bed watching the movie "Seven Pounds." It's been a busy, full day, but a good day nonetheless.

Outside of church, we have nothing planned for tomorrow. I'm thinking it's going to be another lazy day spent inside out of the heat.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
