It's been a busy couple of days.
First off, we had to send our computer off yesterday to get the internal wireless card fixed. It was fine last Monday morning but when I went to turn it on Monday afternoon, the wireless internet didn't work. After two hours on the phone with people in India (UGH-never felt frustration like that before!) it was determined that it was the internal wireless card, NOT the modem or anything else. I called the warranty people, they got me fixed up and we sent it off yesterday.
In talking to my BFF Stephanie later on about it, she said "It's a recall-same thing happened to my laptop!" So I looked up the HP website and sure enough, it's a recall. Nice of HP to notify us, huh? Oh well-it's getting fixed for free (including the two day fed-ex shipping), so I really can't complain. I miss my computer though.
Sunday we went to church, which was great as always. After church was our monthly "Family Feed". Basically we all have lunch together and hang out for awhile. It was nice to catch up with everyone after the holidays. I love our church family.
Sunday afternoon my friend Holly and I met at Starbucks. Holly and her husband, Derek, and I all went to college together. They are both from small Kansas towns and of course I'm from KC, but we all ended up here in Northwest Arkansas and at the same church! It's a God thing, I know. Anyway, I love Holly to death and love talking to her and getting advice/opinions from her. We hadn't had a chance to really talk since before the holidays, so we decided to get together Sunday afternoon.
We had such a great time! We sat in Starbucks for three hours!! It was so nice though to sit and chat, relax, laugh and just enjoy some great company for a few hours. It was a much needed break for both of us. Thanks Holly!!
Yesterday work was ok. Nothing major. Oh, let me tell you this though-I got my eval on Friday. My direct supervisor (my Sgt) fills it out and evaluates me. Not sure why we had to do them this year since we aren't getting raises (AGAIN!), but whatever. My eval was "above average." He didn't ding me on anything and had nothing but positive things to say. It was such a mood booster for me! The only thing is, I wish the Chief would actually read them and take interest in them. She tends to believe only what certain people tell her about people instead of getting to the person. If one of the "command staff" has something against you and mentions that to the Chief, that's what the Chief believes. Irritates the fire out of me. Anyway though-I wish the Chief would read my eval and see what my Sgt. thinks of me and my work ethic. Oh well though. I'm just glad I got a good eval and that someone notices my hard work!
Last night was Monday night which means we got together to watch The Bachelor again! This time it was only three of us, but we still had a good time. Michael, Megan's husband, put together some appetizers and fruit for us and also made us margaritas. It was so yummy! I love our cooking husbands! :) They really do spoil us.
I'm at work now and suppose I should get off of her and face the day. My tummy isn't feeling so hot this morning and I've been fighting a headache for the last two days. Darn hormones!
Sorry to be so random.
Happy Tuesday!
