I got "tagged" to do this on Facebook and thought it'd be fun to share here too.
(These are NOT in the order of their importance)
1. I'm a very anal retentive person. I haven't always been this way, though I've gotten worse in the last few years. When I first started working in the Training/Background Investigation Division, my Sgt., Kevin Lewis (now a LT) was a TON more anal than I. I hate to say it, but working for him, definitely made me, in part, the anal retentive person I am today.
2. I don't like to leave anything on the burners of the stove, except whatever it is that I'm cooking. I have a fear that a burner will accidentally get turned on and my house would catch fire.
3. I have a recurring dream that my car gets stolen.
4. I don't wear my hair the same way two days in a row-it drives me nuts.
5. I don't wear the same outfit two weeks in a row. I don't have that many clothes, but the clothes I have, I switch around.
6. Tanner's step Mom, Jill, is one of my best friends. We don't always agree, but we have learned to agree to disagree and go on. I appreciate her friendship.
7. I wake up around 4:30 or 5:00 every morning. I like to get up and get around before Tanner gets out of bed. If it works out right, I'll be ready by 6:00. That gives me some peace and quiet time to read my Bible, check my email and drink of mug of Chai tea before Tanner gets up. I'm a much better mom/person if I have my time in the morning.
8. I really love to laugh. It doesn't matter if it's with the girls or with the guys at work. Tanner makes me laugh the most.
9. Being a Mom is so much harder than I ever imagined. I have such a huge respect for my Mom and for all that she put up with while I was growing up. (Sorry Mom!)
10. My Mom is one of my best friends in the world. She and I didn't get along well at all growing up but over the years we've grown closer and closer. Now we talk every day at least once and a lot of times, we talk more than that!
11. I've always been a Daddy's girl.
12. I take a bath every night. It's part of my bedtime routine. I love my baths! It's a way for me to relax and unwind before bed.
13. I love "seeing" old friends from high school or college on Facebook. It's "safe" for me to "see" them and talk to them on the computer. If I were to see them in public, even after "talking" to them on the computer, I would probably walk away and not say anything. I consider myself an outgoing person, but in situations like that-I'm shy. Weird.
14. Though I hate crawling in a cold bed, I love to sleep in a cold room! We (I) turn our thermostat down to 63 degrees at night and sometimes we turn on the fan in our room on top of that! (Steve says I need to have my hormones checked and adjusted again!) I love being all snug as a bug under my covers. Needless to say, Tanner sleeps with lots of covers!
15. My Dad tells Steve "Take care of my girls" when we say our goodbyes. Makes me cry every time.
16. If I crawl in bed and think I'm going to read for awhile-yea, I'm usually asleep within ten or fifteen minutes. I usually open the book read a paragraph or two and then hear Steve saying "Take off your glasses."
17. I wish I could be a runner. I WANT to be a runner, I really do, but I need/want someone to run with me and haven't found that person yet.
18. I'm a pajama freak-I love my jammies and I love having several pairs to choose from!
19. I love my brothers more than I could ever imagine. Growing up, I remember my Mom saying that Matt, Mike and I would be friends when we were adults. I thought she was crazy. She wasn't-she was right. I am very PROTECTIVE of Matt-always have been and always will be. At the same time, I feel very PROTECTED by Mike. I am so very thankful and blessed to have two awesome brothers.
20. We put Tanner to bed at 8:30 during the week and 9:00 or 9:30 on the weekends. I usually take my bath and then crawl into my bed after that. I may read or I may play on the computer or watch tv, but I'm usually in bed within a half hour of Tanner.
21. In my opinion, men make better friends then most girls.
22. My very best and longest girlfriend in the world is Stephanie Andler Baker. She and I have been best friends since college. She has stood by me through thick and thin and has been there to cry with me during the bad times and to laugh with me during the good times. I love our late night conversations or our all nighters studying for tests in college. Steph knows me better than I know myself at times. Her friendship is such a blessing.
23. I had the opportunity to take an amazing trip with Stephanie this past June. We went to New York with five other women. We had the time of our lives. New York is addicting-I want to go back so bad I can't hardly stand it. You could be there for months and see something new everyday. Man, I can't wait to go back. Hopefully in 2010...............................................
24. Steve calls our friend Kevin my "other husband." Steve and Kevin not only grew up together, but we all work together as well. If I need something and Steve is tied up with work, he'll say "Call your other husband" and I call Kevin. I'm so thankful for our friendship.
25. God is truly amazing. My life is nothing at all like I would have planned it. I went down roads that I never in a million years thought I'd go down. Life has thrown one curve ball after another, it seems. BUT....I wouldn't trade a thing for it. I love my life. I love how God has molded me and made me into who I am today. I'm proud of the obstacles that I've overcome along life's way. I'm excited to see what the future holds.
