Sunday

Yesterday, Steve had to work all day (such is the life of a Detective-too bad crime isn't Monday through Friday, 8-5!) and Tanner was at her Dad's. I was determined to NOT let the day pass without being productive. I was dead tired and would have loved a nap, but I keep telling myself that I can sleep when I get to Mom and Dad's later in the week. Yesterday was not going to be a wasted day.

I have to say-I accomplished my goal. YAY!! Before church I ran to Wal-Mart and took back the wrong CD I had picked up for my niece for Christmas. I then stopped at our storage shed and got one more thing out of it. Then it was off to church (and I made it on time too!).

Church was good. They were short handed in the nursery so I filled in and got to cuddle with one of my favorite baby boys, Jacob. I didn't know Laura, the girl who was in there with me, very well so it was really nice to talk to her and get to know her better. My little buddy Jacob fought sleep for a little bit but eventually settled down, snuggled against me and gave it up. He slept about half the time. I love snugly, sleeping babies!

After church was Target. I love Target. Love, love, love it. I had been waiting for some pajama's for my niece, to go on sale and low and behold, they did yesterday! Woowhoo! So I ran and picked those up, along with a few other things for Christmas and our upcoming travels.

Once I got home, I was really in the mood to be productive. Let's see, I put the tree up (no decorations yet, we do that as a family), I cleaned the bathrooms, vacuumed the house, made some pumpkin monkey bread (it was from a mix I found at Target-they are yummy!), wrapped all my gifts that I have so far, and cleaned the kitchen. Oh yea, I also got all the laundry done so we can start packing and getting ready to head north. Isn't that awesome! I was so pumped!

Tanner came home at 6:00, took a shower, picked out her clothes for the week and then we sat down to a fancy dinner of cereal and pumpkin monkey bread. HA! We turned off all the lights except for the Christmas tree and it was so relaxing! She went to bed at 8:00 (she goes to bed early on Sunday nights so she's good and rested to start the week) and Steve didn't get home until 9:00.

It was such an awesome day. I feel prepared and ready to travel. I need to pack still, but that's the easy part. Tanner will go to her Dad's for the holiday tomorrow after school and Steve and I will head north on Wednesday. I hate that Tanner isn't going to be with us, but this means she'll be with us for Christmas and that will be awesome!

In a previous post from yesterday, I said I really needed to talk to someone and was nervous about it. I'm happy to report that this person and I spoke and things went very well. Prayers were definitely answered. I feel better about the situation and I think things will be much better from here on out.

I need to get off of here and get busy. I've got breakfast in the oven and I need to start fixing lunches.

Happy Monday!
