Proverbs 12:1 "Whoever love discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid."
Did you know that the word stupid is in the Bible!? I know, I was shocked too! I love it! The commentary says "Cheaters grow more and more dishonest and those who hurt others become callous and cruel. In the long run, evil behavior does not lead to success; it leads only to more evil. Real success maintains personal integrity."
Proverbs 12:4 "A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones."
I pray that I am my husband's crown instead of the decay in his bones!
Proverbs 12:18 "Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."
I try so hard to admit when I'm wrong. I also try really hard to apologize if something I have said or done hurts or offends someone. It's not always an easy thing to do and I don't always do it as quickly as I should. This is something that I'm constantly working on.
Proverbs 12:22 "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful."
Why is it so easy for some people who lie? Lying is one of the things I have zero tolerance for. Even if it's Tanner-it just goes all over me. Thankfully, we've only had a few instances of Tanner lying. I think she has learned that it's better to tell the truth, even if that means your going to get in trouble, then it is to lie.
Proverbs 12:25 "An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up."
I keep a stash of cards on hand and try to send one whenever someone I know is feeling extra stressed or just needs a little cheering up. It's fun to see people's faces when they receive the card/note. Next time someone you know needs a little cheer (espicially at this time of year), don't be afraid to drop them a note. You never know-it might be just what they need.
I hope one of these verses touch you the way they did me.
Have a blessed day.
