Update on Matt

So it's been awhile since I updated you on my little brother, Matt.

He's doing pretty good, really. He is slowly healing, which is such a miracle. I'm not sure what the last thing I updated was, so if I repeat, bear with me. I'll include some new stuff, I promise. :)

Matt will NOT have to have neck surgery. That is a major praise. He is currently in a "holding pattern" and is just waiting for time to do it's thing. He went to the neck Dr this week and was told that he can continue to take his cervical collar off for a few minutes a couple of times a day. He is still in a "danger zone" when it comes to his neck, meaning he can't sustain any type of head injury, big or small. He goes back to the neck Dr in a month and will do a cat scan at that time to see how the healing process is progressing.

He also went to the shoulder Dr last week. He will eventually have to have surgery on his shoulder since it's broken in four places. The big problem though is his neck. They have to wait until it's stable. In the meantime, he is supposed to start physical therapy. He went to his first therapy on Tuesday and from what I understand it was not a pleasant experience. Evidently, the therapist tried to make him do neck stretches! HELLO, the man has a CERVICAL COLLAR on for Pete's sake!! I guess that therapist got an ear full from the workman's comp nurse and Matt's not been back since. He was supposed to go yesterday but didn't. I think part of him was scared of what was going to happen.

His spirits seem to be good. We are now able to count the good DAYS instead of the good moments. That's progress right there. I know my sister in law is back to work part time, so that's good for them, financially.

Please don't forget to keep praying for Matt and his wife, Tammy. Though things are better, he still has such a long way to go. I know he has days where he really questions why this happened and he gets very impatient with his recovery. I mean really, who wouldn't?! I know Matt has really appreciated all the support that he's received from everyone. He's enjoyed reading the emails that people have sent him and he draws encouragement from the fact that so many people have prayed and are still praying, for him.

Thank you.
