It's been a pretty lazy day at our house. Although it wasn't lazy by choice really.
Tanner woke me up this morning around 6:30 saying she felt like she was going to throw up (just what every Mom wants to wake up to!). I got her situated back in bed-with no puking, by the way-and went back to bed myself. She got up for good a little after 8:00 and I got up a little after 9:00.
As soon as I rolled out of bed, I felt that "Aw man, I've been hit by a truck" feeling. I came into the living room only to find Tanner felt the same way. I think we all must have a touch of a bug. Tanner and I's tummies are upset and we both have headaches. Steve's back is really bothering him and he felt bad last night. I've gone around and cleaned and disinfected everything in sight today and am hoping that by tomorrow, we'll all be back to "normal" (whatever that is!).
The good thing about today.....I had time to really read some blogs and catch up on that a little bit. I ran across two old college friend's blogs and actually had the time to sit and read their blogs. That was a ton of fun!
Since I got pregnant before marrying and dropped out of college, it's been awhile since I've talked to a lot of people from college. When you go to a small, private, Christian college and you end up pregnant, people kind of treat you different. I really think a lot of it is that they didn't know what to think or what to say. I mean hello-that's not the norm you know! At first my feelings were hurt, but now that A LOT of time has gone by (12 years!), I'm over it. Now I love hearing/seeing/reading what God has done in these 'ole college friends' lives. I've left comments on their blogs and hope to reconnect with them. We'll see what happens.
I'm so glad that today is Labor Day. To me, Labor Day is the start of the fall season and I LOVE the fall! It's my favorite time of year. There's nothing like living in Arkansas in the fall-the trees are just beautiful! Fall also symbolizes apple time to me! I love baking and cooking with the fresh apples from the orchard. Apple pies, apple dumplings, fried apples, home made applesauce-Can it get any better than that!? I love the fall!!
We are making mini hamburgers for dinner tonight-yummy! My tummy still feels weird, but I'm going to try and eat a little something. I may regret that decision later. We'll see.
Happy Labor Day!
