Somewhat refreshed

Guess where I spent the day today!? At the BALLPARK!

Oh my word, it was such a fun day. I got to hang out with friends, laugh, relax, eat and watch a good ballgame. The best part about it? I did it all while on the clock! Gotta love that!

The PD is raising money for our Benevelent and Shop With A Cop fund. We set up a dunk tank at our minor league ballpark this week. Today was a day game and I had been asked to work the dunk tank. Seeing an opportunity to get out of my office, I of course said yes.

Late Tuesday afternoon, one of the Captains came through my office and asked if I wanted to sit in the suite and watch the game. Tyson Foods has a suite at the ballpark and they weren't going to use it at todays game, so they offered it to the PD. It was awesome! We had so much fun! The suite was stocked with all kinds of catered food, gatorade, beer, peanuts and water. It was air conditioned and had a tv mounted on the wall so you could see what was going on if you didn't want to go sit outside and watch the game. Before and after the game I helped with the dunk tank and in between times, we'd hang out in the suite. Man, it was fun! What a great day.

To change the subject a little bit......Gramps isn't doing very good. Evidently he called my Grams this morning and told her he fell. She called my Dad and wanted my Dad to go check on him. Grams got her treatment today so she was unable to go see him. After two and a half days of heavy antibiotics he's still running a 102.9 temp. They've called in an Infectious Disease Specialist and are running tests. In the meantime, he's out of it basically. He sleeps all the time and when he is awake he's confused and real slurry sounding. The Dr told him he's not to get out of bed for ANYTHING withough help and they've put an alarm on his bed so that if he gets up it will notify the nurses. When I talked to Mom tonight, I asked her if we needed to come up this weekend to see him. The other times he's been in the hospital, Mom's said "no don't come up yet." Today she said "lets see how he is tomorrow." That's not a good sign. I hate it because I can't call and talk to him. He's so out of it that he can't talk on the phone. I ALWAYS call my Grams and Gramps at least once a week and usually daily when one of them is in the hospital. I hate not being able to talk to him. Grams is really down in the dumps because she's not with him. It's like my Aunt said yesterday "they don't like to be seperated." :( Please continue to pray for them.

Tanner called me today, SO EXCITED. She went fishing with Grandpa Doug and Dalton and she caught the most fish. She caught 15! She was so excited-and ready to go again tomorrow. It was so cute. We were happy for her and were glad to hear her be so excited when she called.

I'm off of here and am going to bed. I came home, made me a "Momma drink" (a.k.a a strawberry margarhita) and now I'm ready to hit the sack. Hope tomorrow is as good as today!
