The procedure

After much discussion with all the big kids (my Dad and his siblings) last night, Gma has decided to go ahead and have the procedure done on Gpa today. They will sedate him and then put a scope down and look at his lungs, possibly biopsying whatever is in there. Gma decided that she needed to do everything possible for him, even if that meant sedating him and risking him not waking up. She felt like Gpa would do the same for her and that’s so true. He’d not think twice about it if the tables were turned.

So today at 2:00, they will start. Dad is at the hospital now with Gpa and the other kids will all be there around 1:30 to support Gma. The biggest risk with this that he won’t wake up once they sedate him. Because he’s so weak and his heart is working so hard, there is a strong chance that could happen. The good thing about all this is that my sister (in law)’s mom is an ICU nurse at the hospital where Gpa is at. Though Gpa isn’t in ICU, Nancy (Jenny’s mom) has been keeping up with him, checking on him, helping care for him, etc. and has asked the Dr if she can be in on the procedure with them. My Gpa & Gma love Nancy and they think the world of her. The Dr has agreed to let her in on the procedure which makes Gma feel much better about doing it.

Thanks for your prayers………..please keep them coming.
