Anniversary

Today is Steve and I's third wedding anniversary! Yay for us! I told him earlier, as of today, our marriage is the longest one for me yet-how cool is that! (We got a good laugh at that, by the way) We celebrated tonight by going to PF Chang's for dinner. I had us a cookie cake made so we came home and had cookie and ice cream for desert-yum-o! Over all it's been a good day.

Though Steve and I have been married for only three years, we've been together for nine years and have been friends for eleven years total. When I first met Steve, he was working at the Police Department and I was working at a local Dr's office. The PD used our Dr to do their pre employment physicals and drug screens and Steve would set those up through me. That's what started our friendship. When I quit the Dr's office I told Steve to keep me in mind if something opened up at the PD. Six months later a secretary slot opened up and I got the job.

Our friendship grew over time when I started working for the PD. We both went through divorces and we both helped the other one get through things. Once we started thinking about dating and actually started dating, I knew then that Steve was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Little did I know it'd take the man six years to propose! :0)

I thank God everyday for bringing this man into my life. I'm not really sure what I did to deserve him, but he was definitely worth the wait! We have so much fun together, no matter what it is we're doing. We laugh sometimes to the point of me crying! We share our deepest thoughts and fears with each other. We cook together. We parent together. We go to church together. We depend on each other. Steve is my rock in stressful situations. He gives the best hugs in the world and he makes me want to be a better person.

He has been (and will continue to be) my rock through all of this stuff with Gpa. My Gpa loved Steve and vice versa. They have a special, one of a kind relationship and that makes me so happy. I've already told Steve that when Gpa finally goes to heaven, I will be an emotional wreck. Steve's response? "So will I." What a man.

My favorite movie line is "You complete me" (Jerry McGuire). Steve completes me. Who could ask for more than that out of a husband? Not me.

We've got three years under our belt......we've got a lifetime to go.
