Busy Day

Today was supposed to be a laid back, relaxing day. Let me just say...that DIDN'T happen! I think we were on the go the majority of the day. We are sore, tired and worn out, but we are still just so dang glad to be here.

Steve hung out with my brother the majority of the day. Those two, I swear, are two peas in a pod. They love to run around together when we are here, and then in the evenings they hang out in my brother's "man room/cave" and watch tv while drinking a beer! Today they went and got fireworks then stayed with the girls (my two nieces and Tanner) while the "big" girls (my sister-in-law, mom and I) went to Sam's, the liquor store and then to a couple of shoe stores.

After dinner, Tanner went back up to my brother's (he only lives like ten houses up from Mom and Dad) house and is having a sleep over up there. A major cold front came through and cooled things off so Mom, Dad, Steve and I sat on the deck and just relaxed. It was so nice!!

Let me explain the liquor store trip. It sounds kind of funny to say that the liquor store was one of our stops! We aren't lushes, believe me. My brother is throwing a big party tomorrow night. He is a kid at heart and LOVES the 4th of July. I had a bucket of Mango margarita's that I brought up to share so I needed some tequila to make that and then my Mom wanted a bottle of Sangria to take to the party. My sister needed some beer for the boys, so we just decided to go to the liquor store while we were out. We joked that if we got stranded on the highway, we'd be set since we had all the food from Sam's and then the alcohol! We also joked that if we were to get in a wreck, we'd sure look like three lushes! :) Thankfully we made it home just fine.

Steve is doing ok, pain wise. He's been in a lot of pain, but has been better with letting people help him a little bit. I don't think my brother let him lift anything today-he just rode along for the company more than anything else. He did go all night long last night without any "feedings" (a.k.a. pain meds) which was a first. Yay for progress!!!

I'm so spoiled. My daddy is fixing me homemade biscuits and gravy and hash browns in the morning!! How stinking cool is that!? I haven't been this excited to get up in ages! My Dad, my brother and Steve are going on Saturday morning to this little hole in the wall restaurant that serves great biscuits and gravy. It's something they do every Christmas Eve morning. Since we are here this weekend, they decided to have a "Christmas in July" and go Saturday. Dad said since Saturday morning is "boys only" he'd fix me biscuits and gravy tomorrow. What a guy!

I feel like this post is really random and I apologize for that. I'm so tired and have a little bit of a headache. I think the bed is calling my name, now.

G'night!
