This Week

What a busy couple of weeks I have going on.

Today is just a plain 'ole Monday. Nothing exciting-except for the fact that my immediate supervisor is out of the office for the next two weeks-that's reason enough right there for this to be a good day!

Tomorrow I'm on the ropes course all day. Our Chief had this brilliant idea for every division within the P.D. to spend a day working together on the ropes course. It's supposedly to help build unity and promote teamwork within our divisions. The first time we went, we got to go with people outside of our division. My group was a blast-of course since I work in the Training Division and helped divide people into groups, I got to pick and choose who I went with. It was a blast though and we really did work together as a team on all the activities. This time will be much different since we have to go with people in our division and we'll be on the high ropes.

I am the only female in my division, so that will be interesting. At this point I don't really plan on doing a whole lot of the course. There are few people in my division that I trust on the ground-I'm certainly not climbing in the air with people that I don't trust on the ground! It's not mandatory that we climb the obstacles so that's good. I'm going to play it by ear and see how it goes. Who knows, I may climb them, I may not. Regardless, it's a day out of the office, so that'll be good.

I only have to work half a day on Wednesday since I'm leaving on Thursday morning. I've got a ton of things I need to get done and will work on finishing those things on Wednesday.

I leave Thursday for New York City. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I've only got 50 minutes to make my connection in Houston and that's probably my biggest fear-not making it. It'll be a great trip though. I'm so excited to be able to spend time with my best friend, Stephanie. We've been best friends for fifteen years and always make it a point to see each other at least once a year. We've talked about taking a "no husband, no kids" trip, but have never done it until now. I'll be back on Monday.

My baby girl (yes, I know, she's not really a baby anymore, but she'll always be my baby!) just got up. I need to get off of here and get some snuggles in before it's time for her to go get dressed.
