Back Update

We still haven't heard anything from workman's comp regarding Steve's back. We talked about maybe postponing the surgery until we hear from comp, but decided against it. Steve needs to have his back fixed and if that means we pay now and fight later, then that's what that means. So the date is set-June 17th it is.

He's still in lots of pain, but he's not been nearly as grouchy the last two days. It's been so nice to hear him laugh a little and to see him smile. It had been so long since that happened that I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever see that again! He told me yesterday that he decided that he only has three weeks to live this way and he's going to make the best of it. What a guy.

Tuesday morning he will fly out to Quanico, Virginia (outside of DC, I think)for a class. I wish he wouldn't go, but his boss is kind of being a butt about it, so it's easier to just go and get the boss off your back. He'll be back on Saturday.

I leave for New York in 12 days. YAY!! It's going to be so much fun. I can hardly wait. We also have several ball games between now and then, along with the end of school activities-all this together means the next three weeks leading up to surgery will be busy enough that they should fly by really quick. I hope so at least!

Thank you for the prayers you've offered so far for my family. Please keep them coming. We've got a long road ahead of us, but I know with lots of prayer and faith, God will take care of us.

Have a great weekend!

YAY! I'm so glad you have a date and I hope the surgery goes well! Good luck over the next three weeks. I hope it goes quickly so he's outta pain soon.
