Catching Up

Things that have been going on in our lives:
  • Tanner is at Grandma and Grandpa's for the week.  She was supposed to go next week, but because of the way things worked out last week, she got to go this week instead.  She just informed me "Um, yea, you should really start treating me like Grandma treats me...." (giggle, giggle)  She's got it rough, you can tell.  LOL
  • Steve's Mom had surgery today to remove a "cancergenic tumor" on one of the lobes of her right lung.  It's NOT lung cancer and it's NOT a spot of breast cancer that's mastesized (I know I spelled that wrong!), just a "spot" of cancer.  They removed the cancer and the lobe it was on.  She's resting comfortably in the ICU tonight.  Thank you God for hearing our prayers.
  • I'm not going to lie-it's been a rough two weeks.  Relationships have been tested; friendships have been tested (and I'm not 100% confident the friendship is going to pass this test); feelings have been hurt and words have been said that needed to be said and things were said that shouldn't have been said.  All that to say, I'm not sure what's going to happen.  Time and LOTS of prayer are going to be needed for this one.
  • Steve and I celebrated our FIFTH wedding anniversary on Friday the 23rd.  FIVE years!!  I can't believe it!  FIVE years and we're still going strong!  I am amazed daily by how much he loves not just me but my Tanner girl as well.
  • Tanner went to Conway, AR to Choir Camp July 12-17.  She had a hard time going (again!) but once she got there, she loved it and had so much fun.  She was roomates with a friend of hers, Hannah, and I think that helped.  We took Hannah, Tanner and Hannah's sister down to camp and then brought Hannah and Tanner back with us-holy cow, it was so fun hearing the girls talk and sing and giggle in the back seat.  Good times for sure!
  • I'm still looking for another job (and Jeff Taylor if you read this-please do not say anything!).  Praying hard that something will open up somewhere.
  • Steve is retiring.  That's another post in and of itself.
  • We are still going to First Baptist.  Not real involved yet; in fact Steve just said Sunday "We really need to think about joining."  I love the fact that we can watch church on line.  Yes, I know it's not the traditional way of going to church, but it's still church and really, that's what matters.  I'm assuming the Pope (a.k.a The Pastor) has been on vacation this month, as we've had a guest Pastor the past three weeks.  He's been outstanding to say the least.
  • I guess that's all for now.  I've been up since 4:30 a.m.  I think I'm going to call the ICU one more time to check on my MIL and then call it a night.
G'night!
