Tanner Update

Tanner girl is still pretty sick and could use any prayers you would like to offer on her behalf.

Long story short-the pneumonia is no better. Yesterday the Dr. put her on a 3rd round of antibiotics and also a steroid inhaler. They took four vials of blood and are doing some tests to try and find out what exactly we're dealing with.

Her CBC (complete blood count) showed that she has a white count of 6.3 (normal is 3-11, I think) and her bacteria level is at 85%. Normal is 40%, I think. According to Renee, our nurse, that means she is "one sick girl with a bad bacterial infection." Renee said that had her white count been any higher, they would have gone ahead and admitted her. My understanding though is that we aren't sure what kind of infection we're dealing with, which is why they are running more tests.

Last night her temp ran between 102.4 and 102.9. I know this isn't abnormally high, but for Tanner, who NEVER runs a fever, it is very high. I got it down to 99.9 so that was good. She just got up and it's back at 100.9.

That's all I really know now. She's staying home from school again, which stinks, but we've got to get her better. I have got to try and go to work as we are very short handed there. Though sleeping, Steve will be here with her for a little bit this morning. I'll check on her throughout the morning and should her fever get high again, I'll go ahead and come home.

I sure wish my Mom lived here to help us out. Mike's Mom lives here now and would help, but she's scheduled for surgery in two weeks, so I don't want to risk getting her sick. Tanner has been saying she wishes Grandma (my Mom) would come down and stay with her and last night even said "Tell Grandma if she comes down, I'll pay her gas money." :)

So that's the update. Please pray for her and I'll update more as we find out.

Thank you.
