Steve and I had ourselves a dinner date tonight.
We were celebrating the end of the case he's been working on the past two and a half months. For the most part, the case is over. Thursday they ran several search warrants and arrested 15 people on various Federal and State warrants. It was a very long, yet productive and great day for everyone. Well, for all the good guys....the bad guys-yea, not so much. Their day was neither productive nor great. :)
I am so incredibly proud of Steve. He was put in charge of the whole shin-dig Thursday. He was posted at the Office and monitored everything and called all the shots. He was the #1 "Go to" Man. He was in charge of almost 100 Law Enforcement personnel from several different agencies, which included SWAT teams and even a couple of helicopters. And he ROCKED it. Several of our Patrolmen that helped that day said that Steve did a great job and that they were glad he was behind it all. And the big boss from Little Rock said Steve should be in charge of the office, he did so well (too bad he's not officially a Federal employee, dang it!). What a great compliment!
So tonight we celebrated. We celebrated the fact that the majority of it is over. We celebrated that the good guys all came home safe and sound at the end of the day on Thursday. We celebrated the fact that Steve will be home more now-especially in the evenings.
We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Bonefish Grill (and if I were a good blogger, I'd know how to insert the link to their website right there, but I'm not a good blogger-sorry). We don't go there often due to the prices, but we were celebrating tonight, so we decided what the heck! I love the atmosphere of Bonefish. Dimly lit, cozy, soft music, a little swanky and definitely a place for grown ups.
We got to sit in our favorite corner booth which was great. Our waiter was fabulous, even asking us what "pace" we wanted our time there to be (we've never had bad service there-the wait staff is great...not pushy but yet attentive). We told him we were in no rush and he was way cool with that-giving us plenty of space and time to just sit and chat while enjoying our drinks or our dinner.
We enjoyed our candlelit dinner....we started with an appetizer of Bang Bang Shrimp. Let me tell you, if you ever get a chance to go to a Bonefish Grill, you HAVE to have some Bang Bang Shrimp. It's the best food around, I'm just gonna tell ya that now.
Anyways............
Steve had fillet mignon with tempura battered jumbo shrimp, along with Asian vegetables and jasmine rice. I had Bang Bang shrimp tacos with a side of jasmine rice. It was so delish! We both walked out of there so incredibly stuffed! I've been miserable ever since, but have to say, it was most definitely worth it.
So we had a great night. It was fun and yet relaxing and just darn near perfect. I'm so thankful for my husband-for the man that he is and for the job that he does.
Way to go babe!!
