Well, one year later-we are in for it again.
Forecasters are saying that around 3:00 p.m. it's supposed to start and not stop until Friday afternoon. They say we are getting 1/2" to an inch of ice and then two to four inches of snow on top of that. We'll see if they are right.
Last year we lost power for two and a half days....I'm hoping that won't repeat this year! We've got plenty of water, candles, blankets and clean sweatshirts.....
Steve and I are both on call. Last year I worked for a different division so my boss told me to stay home. This year, the city is much more prepared and putting everyone on call. If the city loses power, then us Civilians (that aren't dispatchers) will go in and field all the extra non emergency calls for Dispatch (the calls for phone numbers, shelters, etc). I'm not so sure I like that, but oh well. It's OT and they will come get us if needed......so I guess I really have no room to complain.
We'll see what happens.........I'll keep you posted!
