Wedding of the Century Part 1

37 of the Golden Clan descended upon Joplin, Missouri on Friday for the Wedding of the Century. My cousin Dani was getting married and it was going to be a weekend of celebrating!

The celebration started Friday afternoon with a Bridal Luncheon on the rooftop of Columbia Trader's, a coffee/tea house. Oh my granny it was HOT, but it was a nice time anyway. The cake she had was a two layer chocolate cake (some of the best I've ever had!) and had little strings coming out the bottom. Each girl in the wedding took a string and pulled it out on the count of three. Each string had a charm attached. My cousin's daughter Rachel (the one in the middle in the picture above) got the ring charm which meant she was next in line to get married. Let's hope that doesn't come true since she's only 13! And just a side note about the cake: that cake had a TON of frosting on it and not one ounce of it melted in that heat! Amazing!

Isn't my little Hollywood niece Olivia cute in her sunglasses? She's a hoot!

All the families got a goody bag as soon as we got in town. It had a Joplin map, an itenerary for the weekend and just a few little goodies for everyone. The cookies above were a take home goody from the Bridal Luncheon!

These were just a few of the snapshots from rehersal Friday night.
Uploading pictures to Blogger is a pain in the tush. I think I'll put the rest on Facebook and just write about the events here. How's that sound?
(Note: Family members-I'm going to upload all of these to Snapfish this week and will send you the link so you can see them and order any that you might want)
