I woke up yesterday morning with a killer headache. I knew I had been hormonal lately and therefore expected the "monthly migraine" to strike at any time. Still though, when I woke up with it, it wasn't cool!
I hurried and took me some Maxalt and Phenegren and tried to head it off. I laid in the chair, lights and tv off, on the heating pad, with the blanket covering me up. I was telling myself that I was going to beat this headache and it wasn't going to get the best of me.
In the meantime, Tanner had gotten up and eaten her daily yogurt. She wanted some apple cider so she made some for herself and came in the living room with me. After finishing her cider, she said she was going to go lay down, that she didn't feel good. I thought that was odd, but honestly, my head was hurting so bad at that point, I didn't really think much more about it.
A little bit later, Tanner came back into the living room and said she had a "tickle in her throat" and that she thought she was going to get sick. I ever so nicely explained that if she was going to get sick, she needed to be in the bathroom, not standing next to me in the living room! Next thing I know, she's yelling at me from the bathroom and sure enough, she was sick.
Now let me say, I'm a pitty puker. If I see someone else puke, I'm sure to be right there with them. As soon as Tanner started yelling "Mommy!" I jumped up out of the chair and headed in to help her. She typically doesn't need or want help though when she's sick, so I'm really not sure what the deal was. I stood outside the bathroom though, like the good Mom I am, and made sure she was ok.
By time she was about done, I had laid down on the hallway floor because the room was spinning and my tummy was achin'. I finally asked her if she could please hurry up because it was my turn. Sure enough, she came out and I went in. Ugh.
That's how our morning was. Lovely, huh?
Bless Steve's heart, he was a saint and a lifesaver. Such a great man, I married! He was putting up a new light fixture in Chelsey's room, but would also go back and forth between our room and Tanner's room, making sure we were ok, bringing us water or ginger ale, or covering us up when we were asleep. It was so sweet! He ran to Walgreens to get some ginger ale and immodium and brought Tanner and I each a magazine back to read while we were in bed. I love that man!
By time dinner time rolled around last night Tanner and I both felt like maybe we could try eating some scrambled eggs. Steve made us some and they've stayed in, thank goodness. Both of our tummies still don't feel right though, we both have headaches, and we're both just tired. So needless to say, we are home again today.
I think we are over the worst of it and I'm hoping and praying that Steve doesn't get it. We are just going to take it easy and stay cuddled under our blankets all day. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be back 100%.
