Ok, so can I just say that my family and I are such freaks! (And I'm ok with that, mind you)
I woke up at 3:00 this morning and finally got out of bed at 3:45. I just couldn't lay there anymore. I've figured out that if I don't face my alarm clock away from me and I roll towards it, the light usually wakes me up. Well, last night, I didn't turn it away from me and therefore, when I rolled over at 3:00, POP! my eyes opened. Grrr!! (Honestly, I think the ability to wake up early is a Golden thing-my dad is the same way and my Grandpa was too!)
So anyway, I got up at 3:45 and was ready for work by 4:20. Not bad, huh? I came out to the living room and did my devotion, then logged onto the computer.
At 4:40, I heard the toilet flush in the master bathroom. My first reaction was "Shoot! Is he sick!?" I went into the bedroom and low and behold, there stood my hubby brushing his teeth! He was wide awake too, so he went ahead and got up and go to work. He left a little before 5:00!
I told you, we're a bunch of freaks that wake up way to early, huh!? Go ahead and agree, it's ok.
Remember Saturday when I said I felt like a truck had hit me and I didn't die. Yea, well, by 6:30 that night my head was pounding and though I took some migraine medicine, it was way too late for that and therefore, it didn't a darn bit of good. I tried taking a shower (with a Vicks Shower Soother-try them if you've never had them before, they are wonderful!) and that didn't help. I eventually ended up throwing up and believe it or not, that helped relieve the pressure behind my eyes. I finally was able to crawl into bed with the ice pack on my neck, the heating pad on my legs and the covers over my head. I slept until 7:30 yesterday morning and felt much better when I got up.
I'm telling you, I was wishing Steve would shoot me. I haven't had a migraine that bad in ages. I'm feeling rather hormonal though right now so I should have known one was coming. And I should have taken my Maxalt a lot sooner than I did. Oh well-live and learn I guess.
My oldest brother and my Dad are coming down today. When my Grandparent's passed away, we got their upright freezer. Since Steve can't lift anything and since we don't have a truck to haul it in, Mike, my oldest brother, said he'd bring it to us. Bless his heart! Since Dad is retired, that means he can come with him and help unload it. What a guy, huh?
I love my brother Mike. I love how he and Steve are two peas in a pod. It's so funny when they are together because they are like two girls. Since they are both in Law Enforcement, they trade stories a lot, but at the same time, they also always find something else to talk or laugh about. At Christmas time, when we go to KC, they go shopping together. Yea, how funny is that! They are a riot together and I'm so thankful that they are such good friends.
This coming weekend, Steve, myself, my brother Mike and his wife Jenny, are all meeting in Branson for a "grown up weekend." Mike is a HUGE Christmas fan and LOVES all that comes with the season-the lights, the songs, giving gifts...you name it, he loves it. Last year he asked us if we wanted to go to Branson, rent a cabin and see the lights at Silver Dollar City. Steve had a big case going at that time and couldn't take the time off, so we had to miss. This year though, we are going and we are so excited about it! We have rented a cabin and are going to SDC on Saturday. I haven't been to SDC in ages and I hear that it's just beautiful! It's supposed to be a little chilly and that will just add to the atmosphere. I can't wait!
I suppose I should wrap this up and go fix my girl's lunch. She's got a field trip today and is so excited! If I know her, though it's only 5:20 and her alarm is set for 6:15, she'll be up earlier than that, so I better be prepared. :)
Happy Monday!
