For the past five years or so the Police Dept where Steve and I work sponsors a Haunted House as a way to raise funds for our Shop With A Cop program. I usually work a couple of nights during this event in order to earn enough comp time to not have to burn vacation at Christmas.
It's easy work and I really enjoy it. It's fun to see and talk to all the people that are going through. It's fun to watch the excitement on the kids' faces as they wait for their turn. I love it and it's not a bad way to spend the evening.
Anyway, tonight I saw one of the girls that Tanner went to elementary school with. I thought I recognized her so I asked her for her name.
She told me and I said "Yes! Kylie B-I'm...." and before I could say anymore, she grinned and said "Tanner's Mom."
You know, I don't think I'll ever get tired of being called "Tanner's Mom." It just tickles me when people say that.
"Tanner's Mom." One of the many things I cherish about being a mom.

It's funny that you say that...when I was pregnant with Savanna, I was very adamant that I always wanted to have my own identity. I am Tonya, not just someone's wife or daughter or sister. But now, everytime someone says "That's Savanna's Mommy" I am so incredibly happy that I want to cry. Being a mom is the best thing in the world, and I'm so glad to have been blessed to be able to become one.
