Well, the supposed driver and the passenger from yesterday's hit and run came to the PD today. I say supposed driver because the guy that came in and said he was the driver was NOT the one that I saw yesterday. The guy that was the passenger was indeed the one who got out and picked the little girl up. The supposed driver said they didn't hit her, she fell on the ground in front of them and when he was asked why he didn't call the Police, he said "no one ever mentioned" calling the Police. Can I just say "BULL CRAP" to that! The officer told him that he knew for a fact that and SPD employee was on the scene and he remembered me being there and that I drove a blue SUV but he didn't hear me say anything about calling the Police. Whatever scum bag. He got a ticket for fictitous tags and that was it. I don't fully understand why the officer didn't cite him for leaving the scene-I don't know if it's because I said he wasn't the same guy or what. Like Steve said tonight, he will get his justice somewhere down the road.
This whole thing has really bothered me. I've been very emotional today (and heck, that could just be hormones!) No the little girl wasn't hurt seriously or anything like that. I guess it's just the realization and seeing first hand how mean people are and how life can change in the blink of an eye. Wow.
Steve's been home all day with his back bothering him. For those who don't know..he was in a wreck about twelve years ago while on duty. They were pursing a stolen vehicle and Steve was hit from behind by the vehicle. He received permanent back and neck injuries because of it. Every now and then his back gives out and really bothers him for a few days. Today is one of those days. Bless his heart he's miserable and grouchy. I try really hard not to take it personal although some days I'm not very good at it. I need to work on that.
Steve's on call this week. Usually he doesn't get very many calls but for some reason he's gotten paged twice tonight. Unusal. I hope this doesn't continue and we're able to get some sleep without the pager going off. :)
I came home from work today at 1:00 and slept all afternoon until it was time to take Tanner to dance. I don't know if it's allergies or a sinus infection, but I just don't feel good-sore throat, drainage, tired and run down, etc. I'm going to heavily drug myself tonight and hope that a good nights rest will make things all better.
Next weekend is my families annual Family Reunion in Branson. We can't wait. We rent a block of rooms at Thousand Hills Condos and all stay right there together. This year there will be about 40 of us. It's always so much fun-for both the kids and the adults. We go-cart race (and trust me, there is LOTS of trash talk that goes on before the races), we shop, we eat together and we just hang out and have fun. This will be the elevanth year. It's going to be so much fun! Only 8 days left!
I better get off of here, take some medicine and get to bed. It's really raining outside and it's great sleeping weather!

It's so nice that you enjoy your extended family like you do. I think it's rare. I don't really like some of mine. I know, that's not nice is it?
